Candace Parker is a professional basketball player who plays for the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association. In 2006, she was named Rookie of the Year and was a three-time All-Star from 2009 to 2011, earning Most Valuable Player honors in 2011. In 2010, she won both the MVP and Defensive Player of the Year awards, becoming the first woman to do so. In 2012, she was a member of the WNBA champion Sparks.
