Bonar Law was a British politician, most famous for serving as the British Secretary of State for the Colonies from 1920 to 1922. He was born in Perth, Scotland and educated at university there. He served with the British Army in India and Sudan before rising to become a leading figure in the Conservative Party by 1918. In that year he entered the Cabinet as President of Board of Education, a post he held until 1922.
