Blanka Vlasic was born in Belgrade, Serbia. She is a Serbian author living in Canada since 1994, who writes in Serbian and English. She has written numerous books for children, including the series "The Long Journey to Tushar", which won the Canadian Library Association Book of the Year Award. Blanka is a member of the International PEN Club and a Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres from France
