Billy Bragg is an English singer, songwriter and musician. He is best known for his work with the band Wilco. He was born in London and brought up in Leeds. His mother was a secretary and his father an electrician
His mother died of cancer when he was ten years old. This event had a great impact on him and he began to write songs, including "A New England", about the death of his mother.
