Benjamin Robbins Curtis (August 30, 1802 – October 17, 1878) was a lawyer, soldier, and politician. He served as Governor of Maryland from 1866 to 1869. Before serving as governor, Curtis was a Democratic Party politician in the state of Iowa. His other political positions included being a member of the House of Representatives, the U.S
Senate, and the U.S. House of Representatives during the 1840s and 1850s. After leaving politics he went on to serve as a judge for various counties in Maryland, Virginia, and Iowa.
