Barbara "Cutie" Cooper was born and raised in New York, NY. She received a BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an MFA from Columbia University, and a PhD from the University of Texas at Austin. Cutie has taught English and creative writing at several colleges and universities and has been a high school English teacher in the Bronx for over twenty years. She is also a writer of teen fiction
