August Krogh was born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark, and graduated from the American School of Correspondence. He began his career as a journalist and author and later turned to writing educational textbooks. He is best known for his work The Danish Way of Learning, published in 1931. Krogh wrote over 150 books, including How to Raise Your Standard of Living (1941), How to Buy Your Own Home (1947), The Road to Success (1956), A Short History of Denmark (1959), The Little Book of Danish Life (1960), The Little Book of Life (1972), A Short History of Denmark in Pictures (1972), The Little Book of Happiness (1973)
