Arthur Crandon (born April 14, 1926) is an American author and lawyer who served as a judge of the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He was born in Washington, D.C., the son of Jesse Arthur Crandon, Sr., a circuit court judge for the District of Columbia, and Marie Louise ("Mollie") Fairey Crandon. He was raised in Washington, D.C., where he attended St. Albans School and Gonzaga College High School before attending Georgetown University and the University of Virginia. Crandon joined the law firm Baker & McKenzie where he remained until his appointment to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in 1971. He retired from active service on the court in 1996, but has continued to serve as an adjunct professor at Stanford Law School since 2000. Crandon received an honorary doctorate degree from Gonzaga College High School in 1970 and from St. Albans School in 1988.
