Arbab J. Edhi (Urdu: آرباب جمعه ہدیہ ظفر) (8 December 1904 – 9 August 1988) was an Indian social welfare activist, philanthropist and social worker. Edhi completed his graduation at Government College University, Lahore in 1927 and obtained his master's degree in English literature from the University of Punjab in 1929 before receiving an MA in sociology from King's College London in 1931. He married Rukhsana Edhi (1908–1996), a Sindhi from Mirpur Khel, Pakistan on 4 June 1932 and had two sons and five daughters.

Edhi is also survived by two brothers and two sisters as well as a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren In 1948 he came to Karachi as a refugee from East Pakistan during the partition of India. In 1951 he founded the "Nai Manzar" (Our Home) orphanage at 10/11 Rizvia Street, where he built the first ambulance for his ambulance service for destitute women and children which was launched on 12 July 1952 with a staff of eight people. He started a service to help the sick with free medical treatment which covered about 130000 patients annually from 1953 onwards using an old bus that he had bought from a scrap dealer for Rs 100 at that time.

In 1958 he set up a blood bank collection centre for transfused blood for hospitals free of cost. In 1960 he built a maternity home at Haji Camp with 25 beds for destitute pregnant women with 24 beds being provided free to them with four beds being reserved for poor women with six months' gestation who were not pregnant but were having difficulty giving birth to healthy babies. For the first time in Pakistan he gave shelter to destitute female orphans who were abandoned by their parents after they had lost their hearing or their eyesight as well as those disabled by polio or cerebral palsy.

The home also provided medical treatment free of cost to those who needed it as well as help them find jobs or educational facilities if necessary
