Anne Boyd was an American author of historical fiction. She wrote many books under her own name, but is best known for her series of Regency romance novels, beginning with The Black Sheep. The Black Sheep group of novels includes the multiple-award winning Lord Willoughby, Rake at Lord's, and The Marquess Who Loved Me. "The group of Regency romances I have written over the years are a combination of work that has been written for other publishing houses and original material that I have written myself," she said in a 1992 interview
