Anissa Rafeh is the author of What I Saw, a memoir that blurs the lines between fiction and nonfiction. She is also the author of the novel Meadowlands, which became a New York Times bestseller. Before turning to writing, Anissa was a television producer and scriptwriter. She fled her native Egypt with her family when she was nine years old, and spent four years living in three different countries before settling in the U.S
She received a B.A. in International Relations from Brown University and an M.A. in International Relations from Yale University, where she earned distinction as a teaching assistant for John K.
Cooley's course on international political economy and development policy.
