Allene van Oirschot is a writer and teacher. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Literature. A professional writer since 1996, Allene is also the Associate Director of the Professional Writing Program at Mass Bay Community College, where she teaches courses in business writing and literature. Her interest in teaching and writing developed as a result of her own struggles as a writer and as a mother of two very young children
