Ali Altantawi is a writer, editor, and translator. He has worked on numerous translation projects for prominent publishers including Penguin Books, HarperCollins, Grove Press, and Newmarket Press. Altantawi's translations include the works of Nobel Prize winner Gabriel García Márquez, Elmore Leonard, Rose Macaulay, Bei Dao, and A.S. Byatt
He is the author of the forthcoming book The Bosnian Poet in Translation (Pluto Press) and has published translations of A.S. Byatt's Possession (Newmarket Press), Agatha Christie's Poirot mysteries (Plume), and John Berger's Ways of Seeing (Grove Press).
