Alexander McQueen (March 5, 1969 – June 7, 2010) was an English fashion designer. He is best known for his collections of contemporary menswear with a heavy emphasis on texture, colour and deconstruction—particularly for his burial of human skulls in his designs.
McQueen launched his own line of luxury ready-to-wear in 1992. Three years later he showed it at London Fashion Week. His personal style was also influential on British rock musician Sting, who was photographed wearing McQueen on the cover of his 1997 solo album "Brand New Day." McQueen is generally considered to be one of the most influential designers of the 20th century.
