Alan Dundes is an American anthropologist, author, and historical interpreter. He is the author of many books including The Anthropology of Art (2nd edition), The Humankind Moment: Reflections on the Pathway to the 21st Century (2007), and The Secret Lives of Birds (2003). Dundes has also contributed chapters to three previous books; "The Secret Life of Animals" (1998), "The Fantastic Lives of Humans" (2001) and "The Literary Lives of Animals" (2006).
