The seraphim are angels in the Hebrew Bible. They are also known as the angels of God or, in some traditions, the angels of light. Seraphim are mentioned in the Zechariah chapter 6 of the Bible, when they are described as being equipped with six wings—two pairs of wings on their heads, two pairs on each side, and two pairs at their waist. They are described as flying around the throne of God (i.e., the region above His throne), praising God and singing praises to Him
The seraphim do not perform any other function in the Bible, but they are considered by many Christians to be one of the highest orders of heaven's angelic beings.
