Everybody is a book of blood; wherever we're opened, we're red.

Clive Barker
About This Quote

This quote is an interesting one. It’s a phrase that can be taken to mean that we all have a book of blood and that we all contain the potential for violence and death. While the first part of this quote seems to be stating that we are all just blood and blood is something we can see, the second part is saying that we are all just books and we can’t really see what is inside. We just know there is something there. There is a definite duality to this quote.
