Now even reformers needed political machines.

About This Quote

Now even reformers needed political machines. Generally speaking, when a politician gets elected, they are able to change the government in order to benefit the people. However, when the reformers came into power, they were able to fit in with the political machine that was already in place. This allowed the reformers to get things done but also meant that they weren’t able to really change things for the better.

For example, Karl Marx had a lot of different ideas about how to improve society and how it should be run. However, he was too far outside of what was already accepted as normal that he could not get his ideas through to the people.
