About This Quote

As long as one is involved in worldly interactions, there is pleasure of the mind; and after knowing the Self (Soul), there is bliss of the Soul. Meaning, once a person has got a taste of the material world, it’s hard to pull away. Once a person has a taste of material pleasures, they find themselves craving more. This craving for material things eventually makes your life revolve around these very things.

This craving also makes people do all sorts of undesirable things in order to get what they want. Unfortunately, the more you crave this world, the more you become worldly oriented and inevitably end up falling into this cycle of desire and disappointment over and over again. Once a person has an understanding of the Self (Soul) and how it interacts with this world, they can use their desires to help others in need without being bound by them.
