The sinner does not need more grace than the saint, nor does the immature and undisciplined believer need more than the godly, zealous missionary. We all need the same amount of grace because the "currency" of our good works is debased and worthless before God.

About This Quote

It is often said that we need to be more disciplined, especially with regard to spiritual matters. We need the grace and strength to overcome our weaknesses and our sins. But why do we need grace? If we have done everything we can do to live righteously before God, then what more can we do? While it is true that we sin continually and that we all need grace, there is something that separates one level of grace from another. A person who has never been saved may have a low level of grace because he or she has not "done enough" to earn salvation.

However, this person has a high level of faith and devotion to God; they are faithful and obedient Christians. They still struggle and struggle and struggle with their sin and weakness, but God gives them strength through the power of His Holy Spirit. They are striving to be holy as they believe in God’s power to change them into new creatures.
