About This Quote

When the great Japanese poet, Basho, penned these lines, he was speaking about the nature of the world itself. We all know that the world is here now (we live in it), but we can’t change that fact. It’s what it is. It may look different to you than it does to me, but it’s still here for us to see and interact with.

This idea of the world as something that is always there (and doesn’t have an end) is an important one. Because so much of our lives are spent interacting with the world, it can seem pretty daunting when we are told that the world will always be here for us to see, experience, and interact with.
