Being a vampire is much like being a normal human, except for the fact that you need to drink the blood of other people in order to survive. The taste of human flesh and blood is universally disgusting and disgusting to the point where it is sometimes hard to eat. However, in contrast, when drinking blood it seems that there is no difference between the taste of blood and that of orange juice. This brings up the question: Why do we find the taste so repulsive if it does not differ from anything else? The answer lies in our biology.

The theory of evolution suggests that humans have a strong aversion to things that are different from our own from an evolutionary point of view. Therefore, when we see something different from ourselves we have a strong reaction towards it which makes us want to avoid it. Thus, when drinking blood we get a taste that does not differ from our own taste buds and thus we can eat without being disgusted by the blood itself.
