Sociopaths are attracted to politics because the see it as a sphere in which you can be ruthless and step all over people. That fact that some politicians can tell such awful lies is another example of sociopathy. Sociopaths lie–they see nothing wrong with it.

About This Quote

Sociopaths are attracted to politics because the see it as a sphere in which you can be ruthless and step all over people. That fact that some politicians can tell such awful lies is another example of sociopathy. Sociopaths lie—they see nothing wrong with it. A number of studies have shown that the tendency to lie is a common trait among sociopaths and psychopaths.

In fact, a study conducted by Stanford University and New York University found that psychopaths and sociopaths were twice as likely to be lying as non-psychopaths. The idea of lying does not seem to be something that bothers these people. They simply do not feel any guilt for lying or stealing, and they never think about what they are doing or who they are hurting.
