If you are searching for a meaning to this quote, what Henry did was take the wealth of the monasteries for his own use. This came to be known as “The Dissolution of the Monasteries Act.” The act was repealed in 1540 but it wasn’t until 1547 that Henry VIII died. The act was re-enacted after his death and finally struck down in 1563.
