I often warn people: "Somewhere along the way, someone is going to tell you, 'There is no "I" in team.' What you should tell them is, 'Maybe not. But there is an "I" in independence, individuality and integrity.

About This Quote

When Don Imus was fired from his job at New York's WFAN Radio on March 7, 2007 after making a racist and sexist joke on the air, he immediately took to the airwaves to defend his actions. He argued that it was unfair for him to be fired so quickly and he should be able to get another job at a different station. Imus said that he did not mean what he said and that someone had edited the tape of him saying it. Then, on March 14, Imus did something that many people found completely unacceptable. He called the Rutgers University women's basketball team "nappy-headed hos."
