I don’t know that love is freedom. Rather, I think it’s more a force to preserve freedom.

About This Quote

When I was first born, I was given the chance to have everything that I wanted. I just had to work for it. That should have made me happy. It did at first.

But, as time went on, I began to realize that the only people who truly loved me were those who knew my worth. And, so I started to think about the world around me. And, I realized that, for the most part, people are not loved because of who they are, but because of what they have.

And, so I began to think about love in a different way. Love is not about being free from what you want or being forced into something you don’t want to do. Love is about how you feel when you see some one happy and some one sad and some one sadder than you are.

People are not free when their lives are filled with food and money and shelter. They are not free when they are surrounded by people who love them no matter what they are doing or not doing. No one is truly free when every day brings with it a new set of rules and another set of expectations.

The only ones who are truly free are those who know how to make others happy without expecting anything in return.
