We work hard to believe that our actions really don’t affect others all that much because we want the license to act without thinking all that much.

About This Quote

As human beings, we have a tendency to believe that our decisions are more important than anyone else’s. We want to feel that the things that we do are important and that they are not easily influenced by other people. We live in a world where everything is measured by money, status, fame, power, etc. It does not really matter what you do or how you act unless it is what people will buy or who you will impress.

The real world is not like the world of Disney movies where everyone is nice and accepts others for who they are. So when we live in this society, it becomes very hard to believe in any kind of goodness.
