I pray that God will wash the stains off my heart and give me peace as I pray for forgiveness. When I was a child, I was hurt by someone close to me. Regardless of how much I tried to move on with my life, those memories were always there haunting me. One day I decided to make a list of all the hurtful things that had happened to me and asked God to take them away.

After making the list and praying for forgiveness, I felt great relief and released all that pain into the arms of my heavenly father. That day I learned that we carry our pain with us because we allow it to linger there. The more we carry it, the more we feel its effects.
