In the movie “The Princess Bride,” Inigo Montoya, a Spanish swordsman, says to Count Rugen, “You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.” The word from which Inigo is speaking is “fine.” To a non-initiated person, a fine is a small amount of money. However, to a true connoisseur of fine things, a fine is something far more valuable – a high quality item or service. For example, a fine Chianti or fine cut beef.
Inigo instructed Count Rugen to stop misusing this word as he does not understand its full meaning. Inigo himself has a three piece underneath his cloak as well as his sword. When he lost his first two pieces in battle against Count Rugen, he thought that those pieces were worthless and not worth fighting for anymore.
Yet, he fought anyway and won his third piece back from Count Rugen - the one thing which makes him truly great – the quality of his heart.
