It is true that NASA astronauts have not been able to stay continuously on the ISS for a full year, but they have, in fact, lived continuously on the ISS since November 2000. Biosphere 2 was not asked to stay continuously for two years. The people were asked to remain inside of Biosphere 2 for 120 days in which time they were given no access to the outside world whatsoever.
