I think he just loved being with the bears because they didn't make him feel bad. I get it too. When he was with the bears, they didn't care that he was kind of weird, or that he'd gotten into trouble for drinking too much and using drugs(which apparently he did a lot of). They didn't ask him a bunch of stupid questions about how he felt, or why he did what he did. They just let him be who he was. Michael Thomas Ford
About This Quote

Having a friend who understands you is one of the best things in the world. People who are your friends, or who are family to you, should not make you feel bad about yourself. They should leave you alone when you are feeling down. They should support you when you are happy.

They should tell you to be yourself and stand tall no matter what anyone says about you. This quote is perfectly embodied by Ted Tederson, the protagonist in “Ender's Game” by Orson Scott Card. The story takes place in a world where people have been genetically engineered to develop superpowers, but they are often ignored and thrown away at a young age because they are considered weak.

Ted is one of these people, but he does not let that stop him from being who he is and standing up for himself no matter what anyone else thinks of him. He knows that he has worth, even if other people do not agree with it.
