I remember when I was five playing tag with Cara and her brother. I accidentally got pushed into the side of her trampoline, and I bit the inside of my mouth. Blood gushed everywhere. Cara’s mom held me until my parents came back. I didn’t need stitches, but it was nasty. I roll my tongue over a small bump on the side of my mouth. Yep. It’s still there. Real friendships have battle scars. Jacquelyn Nicole Davis
About This Quote

When people are young, they tend to form very close bonds with their friends. This is because they are usually the only ones who are around for most of the day, and it’s easy to get along with each other. However, as they grow older, these friendships often change. For example, when you were a child, your parents probably spent most of their time at work. So you usually saw them only during the day.

But now that you are an adult, you can see them whenever you want. And this means that you can spend more time with them than your friends do. This may mean that your friendships will change as well. Or maybe one of your friends joined a new school or moved away or got into a new relationship that doesn’t include you anymore.

And that’s just for starters! These things take place naturally as we grow up, so it’s not something we need to worry about. But this quote reminds us to be careful not to let our friendships change too much or too soon!
