The horrible fact of the matter is that we are often judged by what others think of us. We are sometimes condemned for the actions of people who aren't even in our control. And, then there's all that other nasty stuff that's brought on by ignorance or ignorance itself. It's just an unfortunate fact that we're not always who we appear to be.

The point, though, is that you should never let the opinions of others change how you feel about yourself. Pay attention to your own feelings and what you want to do with them, and only let the opinions of others influence you if it comes from a place of love or respect.
