The prince was away hunting and the woman was left alone in the palace for a long time. She became bored and lonely and decided that she wanted to go outside and see what was happening in the village. She opened the door and stepped outside into the darkness of the night only to find out that all of her neighbors had left town for fear of being killed by her husband.
