Every time we see old photographs we find ourselves thinking about the moments we had and the people we were with. We are reminded that some of our greatest memories are those that come from giving. Recently, I met up with an old friend who has moved to a different state. After her husband passed away, she was faced with moving to a new city with her son.

She worked tirelessly on finding a new home for them. She wanted her son to have a place where he would feel connected to his father and be close to his friends. It was not easy for her to make this decision but she did it because she knew it was what was best for her son.

He would have been hurt more if she didn't leave behind everything that he valued most. I am reminded of the words of Martin Luther King Jr.: "true greatness is shown by respecting the dignity of every human being."
