About This Quote

In the world of "The Twilight Zone," reality was often stranger than fiction. In the world of Jim Carrey, life is stranger than fiction. In his latest movie, "The Number 23," Carrey plays the role of a man named Benjamin Elton who is plagued by a series of strange events that are too numerous to count. That's an odd way of saying he's haunted.

He's haunted by what he imagines are visions of dead loved ones that are actually just rented DVDs that his nephew has rented for him. He's haunted by the fact that he is on the verge of being evicted from his home because he can't afford his rent. But most haunting of all is the fact that he keeps receiving mysterious phone calls from a mysterious man who warns him about an impending event on September 23rd.

When Jim Carrey first heard about this movie, he couldn't believe it was real. It sounded like something out of the Twilight Zone. But it is no help to Jim Carrey that there are already two different movies called "The Number 23."
