About This Quote

"I clench my teeth as tears come. I am fed up. I am fed up with tears and weakness. But there isn't much I can do to stop them." Tris is the heroine in the dystopian book series, Divergent by Veronica Roth.

She is a sixteen year old girl who lives in a society called the Dauntless, which consists of people who are brave, strong, and fearless. Tris is not brave, strong, or fearless, however she learns to overcome her fears to take care of her fellow Dauntless members. She struggles with tears because she has no one she can turn to when she is sad or scared.

Her best friends Christina and Tobias are too busy fighting to be with her when she needs them. She also struggles with weakness because her parents are in love in secret and have never told her about it or asked for her input in the matter. She has no idea how much she loves everyone until she suffers through all the pain of being alone.
