About This Quote

Alice in Wonderland, by Lewis Carrol, has a lot of great quotes. For example, “I’ve always imagined that if you put a piece of cheese in front of a mouse all day long, eventually the mouse would get tired of waiting for it to come out and eat it and so it would start to nibble on the cheese instead!” But what is this one about? Well, Alice is asleep and then she wakes up and is very hungry. She doesn’t want to get up and go downstairs and eat (because she knows that her sister will be eating breakfast upstairs). So she stays in bed and waits for something to come out of her…I’m not sure what. I haven’t read the book yet.
