You are, after all, what you think. Your emotions are the slaves to your thoughts, and you are the slave to your emotions.

Elizabeth Gilbert
About This Quote

You are, after all, what you think. Your emotions are the slaves to your thoughts, and you are the slave to your emotions. We’re all capable of feeling anything we want and will, and everyone else is capable of feeling the same things that we do. This is where the control lies in our lives.

It’s in our thoughts. It’s in how we feel about something or someone. Our feelings are not a reflection of reality at all.

In fact, they often make us believe things that aren’t true. They make us believe in things that aren’t real because we want them to be true. The only thing that matters is if we feel it or not, and if we feel it then it must be true for us to feel it in the first place.
