This is a great quote and definitely one of the best and most famous quotes about politics and it’s one of my favorites. I got this quote from a speech that Bill Clinton gave, and I wish I could remember the exact source, but it really doesn’t matter. It is hilarious, but also very true. In politics, it is so easy to get caught up in the “fancy Harvard heart surgeons” mentality where you must have a Ph.D., have been working on the campaign for months, been vetted by the campaign, been endorsed by the candidate himself, etc.

This mentality can cause you to forget that you are just a candidate yourself and that you still have a lot to learn about policy issues and how to communicate with others. The more important thing is that you stay hungry for knowledge and work hard to learn new things on your own.
