About This Quote

A concept is a brick. It can be used to build a courthouse of reason. Or it can be thrown through the window. This quote is about how people often think about their ideas.

When someone first comes up with an idea, it’s so exciting because it’s so new and different. You can see the potential of what you’ve thought up. But as time goes on, you realize it’s not as good as you thought it was in the beginning.

You also realize that your idea may have been better suited for someone else. As soon as you realize this, you start thinking about all those other ideas out there that are better than yours. So why did you come up with this idea in the first place? You might have been thinking that if you came up with an idea that was better, then others would prefer it to your own idea.

That way, you could show off and brag about how your idea beat everyone else’s idea. But instead of talking about your idea with others, you say, “You should have come up with my idea! My idea is better!” Of course, this means that all those other ideas out there have been thrown out the window and forgotten forever.
