Sometimes it seemed to him that his life was delicate as a dandelion. One little puff from any direction, and it was blown to bits.

About This Quote

The quote above is from a short story by the English author W. Somerset Maugham , called "The Razor's Edge." In it, a young American man named Larry Darrell goes to Europe and ends up taking a position as a teacher at a preparatory school in Germany. He speaks German and learns to speak French and English, and he moves into the old schoolhouse that was used as a sanatorium for soldiers during World War I . During that time, he meets one of his students — an old lady who tells him about her time as a nurse during the war. The two become friends, and she helps him to realize how fragile life can be.

He says: "Often, I felt as if my life were delicate as a dandelion. The slightest breeze would blow it away. Even now, I was not sure whether I could keep it." ------------------------- If you like the post feel free to share , like and comment below.#happyindia #indiaisland #indianlife #indianstagram #indianbeauty #india_greetings #indiangrams #indian pic #indianstyle #indianpics #indiapictures #photographyinindia #lifestylephotographyinindia #peopleofindia #happytravellist #loveindia
