About This Quote
In the movie, "The Princess Bride," a character named Inigo Montoya said “You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.” Inigo was trying to convey to a man named Westley, the true meaning of the word, “wish.” Westley had been saying things that sounded as though he wished he were still alive. Inigo was trying to explain that Westley didn’t really mean those words as much as he sounded as though he did. Inigo loved his life and was happy with who he was, but he couldn’t help but feel sad because Westley thought differently about their relationship. At the end of the movie, we learn that Westley didn’t truly wish to be dead and that he loved his life and loved Inigo and loved the world and loved his family and loved all of those things and more.
