About This Quote

Boundaries keep people out mine served only to keep me in. At a party a friend of mine overheard two people speaking about their boundaries, and one of the people stated that he had no boundaries and didn’t care. While busy with other conversations, my friend listened as they talked about their boundaries. They talked about how they don’t have good boundaries because they let people in easily.

One person stated that he doesn’t have good boundaries because he keeps everyone out. Another person said that she didn’t have good boundaries because she lets everyone in, but doesn’t care. As my friend listened, she realized that her friend didn’t have good boundaries because his were only serving to keep him in.

He gave any and everyone a chance to come in and stay, but never cared if they left. He kept all his doors open and let people in at will, but never asked if they wanted to leave or go somewhere else. He held open house for strangers who may come and go as they please.
