About This Quote

If you are working on a team, it’s important to recognize the strengths of your teammates. A leader who ignores the strengths of his team will often find his team misaligned and in the wrong place at the wrong time. Here’s an example. You’re in a conversation with one of your teammates, and you start to talk about one of your weaknesses (how you normally make mistakes).

Your teammate might not like hearing about your weaknesses, but if he knows that you are working to overcome them, he’ll probably respect what you’re trying to accomplish. You can also take this one step further. Even when you feel like your weaknesses are holding you back (and they normally do), take each moment to look inside yourself and learn something new about how you can work harder to overcome them next time.
