A now little known historical figure named Averroes. Averroes was a Muslim scholar who lived in the 11th century. He was born in Cordoba, Spain and died at the age of 62 during the Muslim expansion into the Iberian Peninsula. He is most famous for his commentaries, or voluminous commentaries, on Aristotle's works. Averroes is known as one of the greatest minds of the Golden Ages of Islamic Philosophy.
