To pray is to ask for something that you want. It is the act of asking for something that you want. However, there are many people who believe that God will give them what they desire without any effort or input from them. This is a very dangerous misconception because it makes people believe that they don't have to do anything.

They are told to "pray" and God will take care of it all. The problem is, prayer does not work this way. God doesn't work the way that people think he works.

He doesn't answer prayers this way. He doesn't answer prayers the way that people think he should answer them. If you want to become free of pain, if you want your life to improve, if you want your life to change, then you must take responsibility for changing your life for yourself.

You must take responsibility for yourself so that you can be free again. You cannot do this with someone else's help or by praying or wishing or dreaming about being free again because you are being delusional if you believe these things will make any difference in your life. When God actually answers our prayers, it will only be when we have done the work necessary to change our lives for ourselves.

Praying is important, but it's just one piece of the puzzle, not the whole puzzle itself.
