About This Quote

The first time I ever read this quote, I actually laughed. At first, I thought it was funny because it wasn't true at all. Because of this, I said, “Oh, you’re funny.” The second time I read it, I thought about it more. And the third time I thought about it even more.

And finally, after thinking about it for a long time, I realized that it is true. We are able to disagree with another person’s opinions. We are not able to disagree with their doctrines or doctrine-like doctrines like religion and politics.

However, we can’t disagree with their experience — no matter how painful — because we can’t physically see and touch them and we can’t ask them our own questions and watch them respond with their own experiences.
