I'm not sure if I agree with this quote or not because I end up being happy about my work. I do it, and I get grumpy because there is a huge, vast gulf, this aching disparity, between the platonic ideal of the project that was living in my head, and the small, sad, wizened, shaking, squeaking thing that I actually produce. However, I can imagine this quote being very true for some people. Not everyone will be happy with their work but they are forced to work because they have bills to pay. Some people are so busy with making money that they do not have time to do what they love doing which makes them unhappy.
