What I am saying is that we were all in the same boat — we were young and hungry and we were looking at our computers and phones and wondering why we couldn’t write a good novel like Hemingway or Steinbeck or Faulkner or Joyce or Proust or Balzac or Tolstoy or Dostoyevsky. We would have given anything, just about anything, for one more hour in order to write that great American novel.
